If Mad Men had a hi-fi rig, this would be it. The Kenwood KW-55 is pure 1960s tube-era swagger—an AM/FM stereo receiver wrapped in brushed steel and loaded with that unmistakable analog soul. Built when “stereo” was still a fresh buzzword, it was Kenwood’s way of saying, “Yeah, Japan can do tubes too—and damn well.”

- Replaced tube 6AQ8 RF amp
- Replaced tube 6BL8 Synch Oscillator
- Verified AM/FM operation
- Replaced heat stressed electrolytic capacitors
- Cleaned all control contacts. The bass control sometimes has a little noise when adjusted
- Power and distortion measured at 1 kHz:
- Right Channel 20.9 watts RMS into 8 ohms @ 0.872% THD+N
- Left Channel 20.4 watts RMS into 8 ohms @ 0.958% THD+N
